LeBron James responds to Christian McCaffrey's endurance, wants to emulate him

LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers will open the 2023-24 NBA season on Tuesday against the Denver Nuggets at Mile High City. This will be the first meeting between the two teams since the defending champions swept the Lakers in the Western Conference Finals.

The Lakers can't wait to see the four-time MVP take on a team that has haunted them since the Divisional Round. James should be eager to leave after the playoffs.

While preparing for the game, "King James" continues to keep an eye on the NFL. the four-time champion is apparently following the matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and the Minnesota Vikings.

LeBron James took to Twitter out of the blue and tweeted

"CMC!!! That's it."

"CMC" is none other than 49ers star running back Christian McCaffrey, who is questionable after suffering a squint injury in last week's game against the Cleveland Browns. He was limited in pregame practice, but told reporters he "felt good."

McCaffrey opened the scoring for San Francisco in the second quarter with a three-yard rush. LeBron James posted the tweet after receiving a pass from quarterback Brock Purdy and completing a 35-yard touchdown run. "CMC" has now scored at least a touchdown in 16 consecutive games, the second-most in NFL history.

Without the injured Deebo Samuel, the San Francisco 49ers needed everything from Christian McCaffrey. Entering the fourth quarter, they trailed the Minnesota Vikings 22-14.

LeBron James wants to be as durable as Christian McCaffrey

LeBron James has yet to play 60 games in his last three seasons with the Los Angeles Lakers. The most games he played in a single season was in 2019-20 when he played 67 games.

Last season, James played 55 games and was nearly lost for the season with a foot injury. He reportedly played through the pain in the playoffs.

The Los Angeles Lakers need "King James" to be among the elite of title contenders. General manager Rob Pelinka has done an excellent job of reorganizing the roster. Nonetheless, they can't make any progress if the NBA's all-time scoring leader isn't 100% healthy.

To that end, the basketball superstar could take some cues from San Francisco 49ers star Christian McCaffrey. Despite his brutal job as a top RB, the two-time pro bowler hasn't missed a game in over a year.

Since being acquired by the team from the Carolina Panthers in October 2020, McCaffrey has played every game for the 49ers. Considering his workload, McCaffrey's durability is staggering.

LeBron James spends millions of dollars to take care of his body. A little inspiration from running backs might do him some good as well.
